Our expert technician will diagnose your problem and advise you as to the best solution.  We will also provide a non-binding estimate of the cost of repairs, in writing if needed for an insurance repair cost quote.  Limited to 30 minutes on-site or additional charges may apply.  Diagnostic charge is waived and regular service rates apply (from time of technician's arrival) if service is authorized.

General Troubleshooting and Repairs (Hourly Rate) (

When a specific flat-rate service does not cover the service you need then our technicians will work at an hourly rate with a one-hour minimum, with additional time then billed in 15 minute increments at a reduced rate.  This may also be a better, more affordable option when several different services are needed during the same service call. Maximum charge (listed at right) applies only to a single service (ask for details).

Virus & Spyware Removal (

We will completely remove all viruses, spyware and other malware  install several virus/spyware prevention, detection, and removal tools to minimize the possibility of re-infection.  We will also clean-up your hard drive of unneeded files.  However, because of the nature of these infections we cannot provide any kind of guarantee that you won’t become re-infected at a later time.  Does not include OS reinstall.

RAM Memory Module Installation

Complete Hard Drive Wipe (total disk erasure)

Want everything on your computer deleted before selling it, donating it, giving it away or disposing of it?  This service permanently deletes everything on your hard drive (including Windows) and rewrites ones and zeros to it to prevent anyone from ever being able to recover any data from it.  Note: After this procedure the PC will not boot up at all but will be ready for a new installation of Windows (requiring a new Microsoft Windows license).

Data Recovery Information

Data Recovery Level 1 – Media that is not mechanically defective, but will not boot

If the media can be “seen” by Windows and/or the computer, and the data is not corrupt, but the device will not boot or the drive will not open, in many cases the data can be retrieved via a Level 1 recovery, which does not require special data recovery software.  This service is available in all of our service areas.

Data Recovery Level 2 – Media that is not mechanically defective, but the data cannot be read by Windows

If the media can be “seen” by the computer but the data is corrupt and/or the device will not boot, in many cases the data can be retrieved via a Level 2 recovery, which requires special data recovery software.  We lease the industry’s best data recovery software. This service is available only in our central repair shop in North Raleigh.  Media can be shipped to our main address to take advantage of this service.

Data Recovery Level 3 – Media that is mechanically defective

If the media is mechanically defective or completely “dead” and cannot be “seen” by the computer then a Level 3 data recovery would be the only option for recovering the data.  A Level 3 Data Recovery Assessment is required before a Level 3 data recovery can be attempted.  For Level 3 data assessments and recoveries we partner with the leading data recovery service in the USA.  This service is performed out-of-state.  Media can be shipped to our central repair shop in North Raleigh or call for details to ship the drive directly to our "clean room" lab.

Recovered Data Media Charge - We can put recovered data onto DVDs for $10 extra per DVD needed.  No extra charge for backing up to USB Flash drives or hard drives that you provide.  We can also provide USB Flash drives, internal or external hard drives for your backed-up data.  Call for pricing.

Initial Local Data Recovery Assessment

This assessment is required for all data recovery requests and must be paid in advance.  This assessment determines if data can be recovered, and if so, if it will require Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 data recovery.  Data recovery charges are in addition to the cost of this assessment. If shipping drive/media to us be sure to pack carefully; Tech Wizards cannot and will not be responsible for any further damage done to the drive/media during shipping.  Payable in advance and non-refundable.
