15 Step Basic Check-Up

Our 15 Step Basic On-Site Checkup will identify major problems and alert you to needed maintenance for improving your computer's speed and performance.  Please allow 30-45 minutes.

Here's what we will do during your Basic Checkup...

1. Check system for obvious system errors, viruses and spyware

2. Check system memory to determine if sufficient RAM is installed to allow operating system to perform full capability

3. Check hard drive to be sure sufficient free-space is available (lack of free space can slow your system down and/or cause crashes)

4. Verify that the system clock is set to correct time, date & time zone (can affect web page access)

5. Tweak hard drive configuration to improve data seek performance for faster hard drive performance

6. Optimize Internet Explorer settings for maximum web browsing speed and performance

7. Configure Internet Explorer security settings for a balance between secure web browsing and "hassle-free" web surfing

8. Verify that you have adequate protection against hackers by confirming that your "firewall" is enabled properly

9. Check for current and up-to-date virus protection software and recommend a solution if needed

10. Check for current and up-to-date anti-spyware software and recommend a solution if needed

11. Install FREE anti-spyware software (if needed) to provide protection from spyware and adware, with instructions on how to run a scan

12. Check to be sure your system is sufficiently protected and power surges and nearby lightning strikes

13. Check status of Windows Updates and advise updates need to be downloaded and installed (broadband Internet connection required)

14. Provide instruction for vacuuming/blowing out interior dust and debris to extend life of computer

15. Provide a review of the results of the Check-Up and provided recommendations for addressing issues found and for improving the overall performance of your system
